The Importance of Supporting Small Businesses
June 11, 2020
These past couple of months have been tough for everyone. In an attempt to curb the coronavirus pandemic, several state governments, including Colorado’s, have mandated the closure of restaurants, bars, and other small businesses. Now, after months have passed, we are now beginning to see many of these local small businesses starting to reopen and ignite operations — while complying with guidelines set by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, of course.
Small businesses, especially local restaurants, are thrilled to open their doors and serve their customers once again. At The Egg of Estes, we are so excited for new and returning customers to see our rebranded breakfast restaurant in Estes Park, CO. Formerly a part of a national franchise network of breakfast restaurants, The Egg of Estes has recently hatched as a locally grown, fully independent breakfast and lunch destination. We’re surrounded by many great businesses in this beautiful mountain village and now that we — and many others — are reopening our doors, we thought we’d share a friendly-reminder of the benefits that come with supporting small businesses, especially during these times.
Keeps the Community Unique
Estes Park is a magical place and attracts 3.1 million visitors each year. However, being nestled at the east entrance to one of America’s most beautiful and popular national parks and surrounded by protected land isn’t the only thing that makes Estes Park unique, it’s the small businesses that are located on West Elkhorn Ave and throughout the quaint mountain village. Here you’ll find one-of-a-kind shops, restaurants, and other local businesses that help make Estes the unique and special place that it is.
Improve Your Health
Supporting small businesses is beneficial for your health in at least two ways. One, it gets you out of the house — there is nothing like breathing in that crisp mountain air. Take a walk to grab some coffee or go find nifty souvenirs at the local shops. And two, when you support local businesses, like The Egg of Estes, you are getting fresh food made with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients.
Enhance the Local Economy
When you support small businesses, you are also supporting the economy they provide their services in. The money you spend at a local business stays within your town and community, thus making for a bright future.
Better, More Personalized Service
Plain and simple, small business owners are going to go the extra mile to make sure their customers are satisfied and taken care of. Local businesses are owned by neighbors and friends, they care about you and are invested in the well-being of the community they provide their services to.
One-of-a-kind Products, Services, or Dishes
Whether a coffee shop, clothing retailer, or a restaurant, small businesses carry unique products and services that you can’t find anywhere else. For example, The Egg of Estes has a unique menu with comforting, away-from-home cooking. You won’t find benedicts, omelets, and other great breakfast and lunch options anywhere else!
